Default Nellis air show

So this is a really dumb or obvious question. but I wanted to confirm. I'm sure we can't carry on base(federal land) but we can't even leave our firearms in our vehicles(if they are parked on base), correct. I imagine it's just like a post office.

Nellis is having an airshow this weekend, and my son goes nuts for planes. But I'm guessing I'll have to leave my ccw in my house.

You would be making a foolish mistake if you tried to get on base with a gun. Don't even think about it, unless you want to risk federal charges, and being thrown to the pavement by an AF security police that thinks he is Army or Marines special ops, lol.

The parking is at the Speedway, and not on the base, with buses going onto the base. Not sure how good security will be for the large parking areas, so personally, I would leave my carry piece at home.

yep, wasn't trying to sneak anything on post, just wanted to verify nothing had changed. Yep, since I found out the parking will mostly be at the speedway, I'll be bring the cheap car, leaving the firearms at home.

I remember a few years ago when that guy opened fire on a recruiting station and then on base, there was talk from some senators to allow CCW on base. of course Obummer was still in office, so it died quickly.

If you can't get on base on a normal day (mil ID) then you can't today/tomorrow.
No guns, knives or nukes allowed, everyone goes through metal detectors.

Went yesterday with Dad and Grandpa (in his WWII hat). Didn't see everything since several planes show up late Friday, but much fewer people.
Great show by 6 WWII aircraft (B25, P40, P51, Spitfire, Corsair and Avenger).

Has live feeds if you can't make it.
Tbirds are flying right now so it is about done for today.
