I used to drive up it many years ago before they blocked vehicle access. Used to go all the way to the towers on top.

I took my 2WD Dakota up to the old first gate in 1999. About 1/3 the way up. Hardest part was turning around without going over.

New gate is only a couple hundred feet from the bottom.

Anyone else thinking they should blow the switch backs and just put a paved road in? The view is INSANE! but the hike is a real democrat.
