Default .223 in my Axis II

Got around to loading up and testing today---

All I had on hand was some Winchester 748. I know most said use Varget but had not purchased any yet --

OH and PHOTOS to follow once I am done with Mr. Scotch

Using the 748 and Hornaby 68grr. BTHP

at 20 grains I have a 4 shot group of .315
at 22 grains I have a 4 shot group of .260

Will be loading 20 tonight or in the morning for a 20 shot group... This is my norm once I ge close to what I am looking for in groups size.

Thumbs up

Very nice! I only had experience with Varget, RamTAC and RL15 but Varget stood out from the rest. What's your COAL like? Do you measure at the meplat or bearing surface?

Meplat is the "tip of the bullet, bearing surface is more like the "shoulder". But with the results you are having, looks like it does not matter where you measure your ammo for the OAL. Sounds good, I'll save your data for future reference.
