Default Renewal question

So I moved twice within a one year period. Moved from vegas to Reno then from Reno into another house in Reno. In both situations it was a pretty quick move. I believe BATFE says to notify them 30 days before a move takes place.

I didn't notify them either time, the. A few months after my final move my license expired. I had intended to let it expire so I could rid myself of the records book as Mac has explained. So as of a few months ago my license has expired, my records are erased.

My question is this: if I apply for a new license and have to list my residences for the last however many years, is it going to cause an issue that I moved and never notified?

The potential for them to notice that you didn't notify them is definitely there, since you have to list all previously held FFL's on the application form, or at least you used to, I haven't had to fill out a "new application for license) type form for years now, just renew the ones I already have.

But I suspect the block is still there that asks if you have ever held a FFL before.

Turning in a FFL or letting one lapse doesn't erase any records, BATFE keeps those for ever, literally. Both the bound books you send in when you go out of business, and the scanned copies they make of them, get stored permanently.

For a C&R you can destroy the records according the ATF's FAQ's.

You can destroy your A and D records if you turn in or let lapse a C& R 03, but not for any other FFL, and the BATFE record of you having had any class of FFL will not be erased. Uncle keeps everything for ever it seems.

All the application asks is for last 5 years place of residence a
(They don't ask for dates) and as mentioned it asks any FFL's you previously held. It doesn't necessarily ask for any info about the two together.

I'm just wondering if I screwed up or if anything bad will happen since I went 10 months at a residence that I knew wasnt going to be permanent and then allowed the license to lapse several months after moving to my permanent residence. Hmmm.

I did sort of the same thing when I sold my house, lived somewhere temporarily and then bought a house in the span of 5 months. They didn't say a word to me. I think they only care about the FFL's that are a business. Sorry I should have put that in my first response.
