Default Follow up "Saturday Fun out by Fallon"

A Follow up to Saturday Fun at Fallon:
The morning greeted us with unpleasant weather: Yes I know we live in Northern Nevada
Long time board member “Long Range” showed up and helped with setting Targets, spotting and hitting Targets.
2 of my friends mad the drive over the hill in the early AM to shoot, Heinz and Rick both from the Sac area.
Weather Conditions:
Winds where a steady 30 mph and gust past 40; at time we could not see the targets though the blowing dust.
1st thing to do was shoot at a 16 inch plate at a 1000yrds. Yes I know that it is a little far to start, But the fun of Cold Bore in this wind. I dial up my DOPE wind from the 4 o’clock. My dope now has some data with 30 mph wind. Long and left. On the 8th shot I was able to hit the target, my wind hold was 3 ˝ mils.
“Long Range”: brings out his 6.5 Swede: he was able to connect on the 4th or 5th shot. With the wind it was very hard to hear the steel ring, all hits confirmed though spotting scopes.
Switched to some closer targets 865 and 850, having the targets spread in a 30 degree arch making the wind read different on each target: The 865 had a wind from the 3 o’clock got on that one in a couple of rounds, the 850 had swirling winds, the target was blown over by the wind before it was hit. Target is AR 500 95% IPSC on a solid base.
Long Range breaks out a nice 243 wearing some Vortex glass push a TINY 95gr pill though the wind. With some good reads on the wind he is able to connect with the 1000yrd target.
Rick got some nice hits on targets distances he has never fired at, Rick was happy and glade he made the drive over the Hill.
Heinz was having a rough day in the wind: freezing his butt off, just could not connect with the long distance on Saturday.
This was a good Test of what the area will allow us to do in MAY of 18 at the “Keep your Bullets Warm” Fun Shoot.
Will be posting about the Spring Shoot once the date is pinned down, it will be in May.

I apologize for the confusion, I didn't mean to impersonate Longrange. I did have a good time and want to thank you for setting this up but next time I am bringing my burning man goggles.

Its all fun. And Longrange is definitely not the worst thing I've ever been called.
