I have a Sig P238 and I applaud SA for going head to head with them. As I understand it their pricing is much lower than the Sig product. As for making a 9mm version (competing with the Sig 938), I wonder if that would under cut their own lines of the EMP or the XDS in 9mm.

The Sig P238 is a niche market, for me it's strictly a backup gun since it's a marginal defensive caliber.

As for re-inventing the wheel, if they make it better and cheaper than the original we all win.

What is the price point for the Springfield copy?

I scored my 938 with factory night sites very cheap. It would be hard for Springfield to compete unless this was a $400 gun.

Ah you mean just like the Springfield XD Mod 2 after the XDM? How about that SAINT that was nearly a decade behind? Nothing like releasing an AR15 platform with an msrp of $1100 after the election. Perhaps the Springfield TRP in 10mm at msrp of$1790 is making it better and cheaper than the sig p220? Springfield needs to change their game plan, Colt and Remington should be a stark reminder of whats to come if they dont.
