The form is here in pdf format and fillable:
https://www.lvmpd.com/en-us/Document...-2016-rev2.pdf

If you fill it out in pen, make sure to use black ink only. Don't sign anywhere on the form until you get down there and are told to sign by the clerk.

I went last Monday around 11 am and it took 3 hours. Middle of the week is probably better.

As far as the waiting game at the Metro office.
They do open the office early I was there a little before 7:30am on my renewal. They give you a number, then when they actually open at 8:00 assign you a ticket based on what you need to do.

All told in and out roughly 2 and a half hours on a Monday morning. Think it would have been quicker, but their camera system was down for at least 30 mins of that time period.

Interesting time sitting there, as all felons that come to town have to go there and register. So sit by one of the windows and enjoy the stories. "Oh this is my 5th felony....."

My experience--If you get there just before closing, 5:00p.m., you can be out of there in under half an hour. They want to go home.

Is there parking for the public at that location or do you have to run the risk of the car being broken into?

There is parking, and a ton of cops around. I wouldn't worry too much.
I sat outside, smoking a stogie. Everything was cool. A speaker outside, calling the numbers.

Thank you. I didn't know if it was like the court house where you're on your own.

I moved out of Vegas almost 30 years ago if I remember it took less than an hour back then. I had not been following postings on the wait time at Metro. 3 hours or more? Wow one really has to be determined to matain their permission card. I was at the Sheriffs office maybe 30 minutes. All to do what the 2nd Amendment says is allowed.

my son went on Wednesday, got there about 8:10 am

he was out of there in an hour and a half, so i guess that's not too bad considering he was told up to 3 hours
