He's got his ways, I got mine.

Yeah I rarely lose my patience on here but I know the depth of knowledge and training people have who commented on this thread have so I had to say something.

apparently, to most gun owners, getting your gear even remotely dirty is a no no. afterwards my stuff if filthy, usually covered in mud, oil and sweat.

Not going to lie, when I purchased my first gun I was like that. It's different when your throwing around Dad's beater/trainer gun as a kid, but when you're older and commit to buying an expensive AR it's hard to get used to beating on it. However, a couple years ago I decided to train and do some quality shooting drills. Needless to say my rifle has gotten dinged up a bit, but it's a badge of honor. If it gets too bad, there's nothing that camo duracoat can't fix for a bit 😁

I don't play in the dirt sand or mud as much as I would like to but if you buy rugged guns and have replacement parts there is no reason not to run training as hard and dirty as you are capable of.

Am I the only one who can't see any of the videos JohnF put in his posts?

Just a blank white square. No pic or video, no link.

i sprayed paint on a (at the time) $2000 build and run it real hard. its still got mud on it from a year ago (internals were cleaned since, though).

a member here put up a post regarding his rifles and how he runs them. it's not for the safe queen types.

they're tools and as long as their maintained, they should be able to take abuse and keep on going.

I stick by you do you as long as it doesn't endanger someone else.Personally people probably talk crap about my sons and I when we go to our outdoor range when they are here visiting from college. We all have plate carriers with lvl 3a soft armor in them(I don't trust half the idiots at any range). We drop mags in dirt transition between rifle and handgun shoot around barrels and barricades etc.. We train hard but safe.If that's tacticool and offensive pay attention to your own targets. I pay my membership and buy my own guns and ammo and RSO's never bug us for safety issues..

so you confirm that like coffee shops, gun ranges are also filled with offended snowflakes.

i personally do not step foot in a public range where there is someone shooting right next to me. there was an indoor range i used to test loads at but that's about it. unless it's a training event or a competition, i prefer not being around others with loaded guns. i've seen way too many stupid things occur.

I did live fire cqb training a while back and rounds were popping off all around me in a very dynamic way. talk about adrenaline... but i had to trust those guys around me.
