went by the RIO last night. No wanding, couple extra wantabe security(looked like crossing guards with security vests) stuck at the front desk entrance, but they didn't question anybody and didn't look like they knew what they were doing. East Garage entrance had no extra securty.

Agreed, I also think they were afraid of anti-gun protesters and sting operations by Bloombutt's.

Ya, that's totally true, casinos aren't gonna spend 1 more cent then they have too. Cutbacks and mass layoffs are the casino industry these days.

For the last 2 years our resort has been sending us employees through a metal detector. And a completely useless bag search. They deny certain employees to bring in leatherman. BUT a chef walking in with a bag of knives is ok. And 50 feet away is a dining room with scores of knives and forks. And in my shop is a toolbox that has at least 20 box cutters. All the time the customers were not searched or wanded.

LOL you obviously never worked in the casino business,,,,, having worked in the industry, it IS private property and if you don’t like their policies I would suggest you “game” somewhere else.... winning “too” much!!! Don’t make me laugh while my lips are chapped... dude you have no idea what you are talking about.... IF you ever took a firearms class you would understand that “private” property has the right to not allow anyone in to their businesses... red hair, short shorts or whatever.... own a legitimate business and let me kno how that works out for you......

And further more IF I was to own a business in Vegas I would ban you on general principal.....WHY?? Cause it’s MY Business and maybe I don’t want YOU there!!!!

Take that!!!!

No wanding when I took the family to the Bellagio and Venetian on Sunday the 15th. I was having my “normal” stuffs on me along with extra backup piece/mags and the wife’s purse was filled with her usual “items”. However, I did noticed extra “eyes” than usual.

Ahhhh.. Not totally correct.

The Right To Refuse Service is not Absolute.

We have that pesky Anti-Discrimination Law

At the heart of the debate is a system of anti-discrimination laws enacted by federal, state and local governments. The entire United States is covered by the Federal Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination by privately owned places of public accommodation on the basis of race, color, religion or national origin. Places of “public accommodation” include hotels, restaurants, theaters, banks, health clubs and stores. Nonprofit organizations such as churches are generally exempt from the law.

The right of public accommodation is also guaranteed to disabled citizens under the Americans with Disabilities Act, which prohibits discrimination by private businesses based on disability.

My wife and I went to the Orleans October 15 to watch K9 trials.
No problems until we arrived at top of escalators to the arena area. Had to empty pockets and walk through metal detectors. I saw hand wands on tables but did not see anyone set off the detectors to be wanded. My wife had to pen her purse and person looked into it.
