PADI Master Diver. PADI is the best! I have dived all over the world and would agree that Cozumel is awesome - it's definitely in my top 5 dive locations. Truk Lagoon and the USS Oriskany are next on my list. I've never dived Lake Mead and never will, unless needed for retrieving property. The CA coast is unique and like no other place on earth when the vis is good, but awful when it's not. A daily crapshoot.

I've dove off Maui a few times and molokini once. Molokini is awesome and worth the trip.

This summer my wife and I went to Tahiti and Bora Bora. Also awesome diving. Unfortunately I didn't get to see any manta rays but the number of sharks was very impressive.

Did you get to dive the back side of molokini? For me the best part of diving the crater side was the bikini-clad gals snorkeling.

The bikini clad snorkelers is a plus.

I'm an open water diver with only 30 dives to this point. I'm being pretty cautious in the nature of dives I'm making. I only make 5-10 dives each summer.

I'm heading back out to Maui this summer. I may give the back side of the crater a try this trip.

It's a wall dive. You'll enjoy it. I usually stop by a local dive shop, rent a few tanks and throw em in the my rental car. Lots of good beach dives.

Enjoy!

Yeah I had read about the wall dive last time I was out. Now that I have a bit more experience I think I'll give it a go.

I do travel with all my own gear but I am the only diver in my family. I've dove off the beach north of Lahaina a few times with groups but would need a partner to go on my own and I don't currently have one.

I love reading about diving and oceanography, but I'd never do it. Too terrified of deep water. Kudos to those who can.

There is a B-29 at the bottom of Lake Mead.

Even with the Lake as low as it is the b29 is just barely reachable by recreational divers.

It's also a protected site that requires a permit to dive.
