My wind reading genie DID NOT WORK!! ARRGH!! Actually I couldnd't even find that sucker....and I rubbed and rubbed the bottle!! Boy, did we all ever get shown that the wind god always has ruled and still does!! Talk about a bunch of low scores!! Other than the wind being a genuine PITA, the day was nice, weather-wise and we had a decent turnout of shooters...and several new shooters, too!

BTW, does anyone have a set of 6.5 Creedmoor GO-NO-GO gauges I can borrow to check something with? I could use any of the following: 6mm Creedmoor, 7mm Creedmoor, 30 Creedmoor, 338 Creedmoor according to PT & G's cross compatibility chart.

I think we've forgotten what windy match days are really like.....I don't think it cracked 20 mph the entire time, or if it did it was momentary! I had holds ranging from 0 to 15mph full value, and that was it. Of course, I had to change those holds shot-to-shot......

Stupid 850 Coyote and stupid 120gr Amax......haha. That ammunition was clearly designed for 100yd casual group shooters.

I had a great time, even if I had to deal with cranky Don, and it was cool to see more new faces.

Yeah..the wind DID made me cry..........if NOT cranky! Oh, yeah.....not to mention getting hungry WAAAYY before lunch time...THAT could make me cranky!! . That was the worst score I have shot in a long time....not that anyone shot any wonderful scores. I did have fun, though. AND Scotty got to see how fast an old guy (Scotty is headed that way in a couple of decades, too) can move when he has an extraction failure!!) (OLD GUYS RULE....well, maybe not when the wind blows that squirrelly!!)

Default Team Tony

Once again Team Tony is awesome. Kerry and Jacob shoot 21 for a tie, ( Kerry shoots a 9 in the last round) , then go 8 rounds in the shoot off with Kerry getting the hit. Great to help new shooters.
If shooters are coming from far, far away, maybe Palomino GG should put on a school for long range. There are so many good shooters with so much knowledge. I learn some little tidbit at every event.
Once again, the shoot was about helping and getting better. The wind was a great teacher.
One final thought, we should all chip in and bring food for Don !

Default Shooting mat?? ANYONE Remember?

A few matches (maybe a practice?) ago, one of the guys on the same squad as I was had a really nice shooting mat that was not loaded with bells and whistles, straps, pockets, velcro, ribbons and snaps, pink nerf balls and flashing lights, dog food containers and drink holders, etc....was nice and simple, but effective.. It was about the usual shape and size, was sort of "coyote brown-ish" and had some pretty nice anti-slip surface (kind of had some "tacky" feel to it, but NOT all sticky) in the areas around where your elbows hit it so they didn't slip around. I liked shooting off of it a lot and asked they guy where he got it and he told me.....and I promptly forgot the make and model, where he told me he got it (maybe Midway?) and everything. It is HELL getting old and having CRS, huh? Anyway, I want to order one of those...can anyone (maybe the guy that had it?) help me out with the pertinent info? Thanks, guys!!

Thanks!!
