Any idea what kind of velocity you're getting out of that .17 HM2 cartridge?

1850 +- 75fps. With the Hornady ammo. The CCI is a touch faster but cycles horribly and is too hot to shoot in the sun.

I've just spotted some decently priced .22LR ammo for sale: http://www.bullets.com/products/1622...of-1400/BL8271

Reminder: Tomorrow is the smallbore silhouette match. Bring your trusty 22lr or high power air rifle and come shoot some steel. (17Mach 2 with plastic tipped ammo is also allowed, if you're so inclined.)

To get there you can take the left fork in the road at the range, it will take you around to the gate. The range we will be at is about ~100yards after you go through the gate.

If you don't take the left fork in the road it will take you straight to the public range. Once at the public range go west (left) about 90-100 yards. You will see the gate, continue on for ~100 more yards and you will have arrived.

See you in the morning.

This event begins at 8 a.m. with a safety briefing followed by site in/practice. The match begins promptly at 9 a.m.

Since 3/22 is the very first match, there will be plenty of flexibility so adjustments can be made. Hope to see you all out there!

Palomino Valley Gun Club held its first smallbore silhouette match on Saturday 3/22, and despite the early hour and chilly winds we still had a solid turn-out of twelve shooters who enjoyed the competition.
The overall match results were encouraging, with most shooters hitting close to half and nobody scoring a perfect run on all 40 targets.
Difficulty enhancements kick-in for the next match, which will present a fresh challenge for several shooters.
We'll also arrive at 9AM for the match on 4/20, so that people can wake at a normal hour and bring their children.
