Default Stuck detente pin

I just bought an Arsenal AK47 and attempted to put a brake on, but the detente pin is stuck in the retracted position so it wonít lock. Iíve tried dental picks, tapping it, spraying a little Ballistol, and compressed air with no luck. I suppose I could use Loctite but donít want to bubba it. I called Arsenal but even though they are local they want me to ship it to them on my dime with a 4 week turnaround. Any ideas?

A picture might help me visualize the problem, can't seem to recall exactly what the detent pin on this looks like.

But regardless of my inability to "see" the problem I would put some Kroil or a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF on it, let that soak in a bit, then heat the area around the pin, and smack the side of the area around the pin (perpendicular to the length of the pin I mean) with a brass hammer, it should pop out then.

If not, clean all the oil off the end of the pin, and then either soft solder or epoxy a length of rod carefully to just the pin, and pull it out.

I usually throw AKs down the stairs. Probably fixed, everytime.

How about some heat. It could be rusted, gummed up with gunk, who knows.. some heat might pop it free. Also is the pin in an area where it can pop fully out. I know most AK flash hiders have a small divot on them where the pin sits, if its not perfectly aligned it might not want to pop out in its place. They can be picky. Also the pin holding it in might be in there incorrectly. Try driving the front pin out and then see if the detent pops out.

This is the pin I am talking about

Here is my solution: Crush washer.

Yep, it's an Arsenal SAM7R. I tried all possible suggestions and just gave up. I really like the final solution.
