Remington 700 (Age?)

Hi, my father in law has an old Remington 700 he wants to know more about, as he's considering selling it. The Serial number on the barrell is C6330719. It also has a Weaver scope mounted to the top and a brown rubber cap (can't remember the official name of that piece) attached to the end of the stock (like a shock absorber) with a nice leather strap connected to it.

He doesn't know how old it is or what it's worth. He says it's only been fired 7 times ever. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Maybe a good source for selling a rifle like this. He'd prefer to sell it locally - he lives in Las Vegas.
