Grappling and boxing skills for the armed citizen

I'm hosting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and Crazy Monkey boxing coach Cecil Burch for a two day seminar on August 4th and 5th.
This workshop will emphasize stand up fighting and grappling skills in the context of a weapon based environment.

Cecil is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Megaton Dias and also
one of the four highest-level CMD trainers in the world.

Cecil's unique "Immediate action Jiu-Jitsu" is geared towards street encounters where either or both combatants may have weapons.
The CM boxing system also integrates well with weapon access.

This is a great introduction to practical fighting skills geared towards the CCW holder.

August 4th and 5th, 2012

10:00-noon, 1:00-3:30 each day

Saturday the 4th will be Crazy Monkey boxing, Sunday will be Jiu-Jitsu

Yep.
I'm intrigued by what I've seen of the Crazy Monkey system.
I met Cecil down in Phoenix at Southnarc's Armed Movement in Structures class and we decided to have him come up for a weekend.
I'm looking forward to getting my azz kicked in new and interesting ways.

I've had various people tell me that they were interested in this seminar but thought it might be "over their head" because they aren't martial artists and aren't in great condition.

Exactly bass ackward, folks.
If you profess an interest in self protection, this is the distilled base that will show you where you need to go in your additional training and conditioning.

Ladies, this isn't just a "guy" thing, either. This is about how to beat an attacker using technique rather than just size and power.

I'm in for both days - if anybody here is wondering why they would want to spend the money to take this class I suggest going over to the Total Protection forum for some reading that will not only change the way you look at self-defense forever, but also save you from the buffoonery of nearly every other self defense / guns internet forum out there.

Sorry, but when I first saw 'Grappling and boxing skills . . .', I thought someone might have met my ex-wife and was looking for advice.

Now back to the program in progress.
