A word doc was the only way I could get the results posted. If anybody can post it as a chart I'd appreciate it.

I couldn't make it for the match, but I did get out there to say hi during the last few strings. Wind was howling. Definitely impressed!!

Yes, I am amazed at the high scores shot on this "Light Breeze" day. Personally I saw winds (I measured them) everywhere from 12 to 34 miles per hour, sometimes with gusts starting at, say 15 and instantly running up to 30+ Some guys ae just WAAYY better at doping the wind than I am!

I started off the day's adventures by unzipping my gun case and discovering that I had my deer rifle with the fixed power 6X and nothing more than the usual friction turrets. Luckily the ammo I had along for my Varmint gun is, at least, the same caliber!! So...everything was Kentucky windage...both for wind and for hold over/under on all targets! Talk about making a grown man cry!! YOU CAN BET I'LL BE REAL CAREFUL to look into any gun case before grabbing it and setting off to the range in the future!! You'd think that at 64 years old I would have pretty much done all the dumb stuff a guy could do, but NO!!!....I keep coming up with more!

Anyway, it was a great match, well run and still fun in spite of having winds that could knock you over!! Thanks, Dave.

Wow, sounds like quite a day!

I can tell you it was also VERY windy up where I was working at 11,000ft. Still wish I was shooting instead of working......

Here is a JPG of the score sheet for easier reading.

Congrats, and I REALLY jazzed to see that Tony's 6SLR is working so well. Tony, what was the load?

We had a great match yesterday. The wind never really came up, it was very switchy between 2mph and 12mph. Just enough to keep us cool and on our toes with the Crows and Chucks.

There were a LOT of close misses on the 385m line for sure. Both Tom and I spun targets for sure, just grazing the edge. I always have fun shooting my .308, but I really need to get a load worked out for the 6mm so we can see how that does.

Thanks everybody who braved the sun!

We had a 3-way shootoff for 2nd place, pretty good way to wrap things up.

We will be having a Varmint Silhouette match this coming Saturday - the format will be Long Range. Start time will be the usual, get there at 7:30 to help set up, be there by 8:00 if you need sighters.

Sorry for the late confirmation, I've been out of town a lot with work! The weather looks to be on the warm side, so bring out plenty of water.

Looking forward to another fun day of burning powder,
Scotty

and.......here are the results!

It was pretty hot, so the low turnout was understandable given that Hot August Nights was going on.

The wind came up in the second relay and never stopped, so we all got a workout. I'm definitely glad I was shooting the 6mm, holding almost half the wind compared to the .308 is pretty nice.

The crows murdered me, pretty clear I need to get a load finalized and remove some vertical stringing.

Default Top Shot, sort of

Had some idle time, so I pulled all the scores from this year and totaled them up. Before you go to the results, let me first say thanks to Scotty and Tom for missing one event. The TOP SHOT is a total of the number of targets knocked down. It pays to come to EVERY event. I included Rabbits because, well we all know about Rabbits.
