Resumes.... now that is an entire different post/subject! I do probably 50 interviews a year for various spots within my airline. It's very entertaiing at the salary (or what we see as slalry, slalery, pay, etc. ) requirements from people with no experience. Yes, I'll pay you $150K as a manager of an airline materials group when all you have done is work the counter at Mc D's!

I'm a las Vegas native and victim of the CCSD, class of '02. I can honestly say I acquired most of my math skills AFTER high school, at UTI down in Phoenix. Learning how to flow cylinder heads and map turbos taught me more math than anyone at Eldorado HS was able to. But I agree with the OP, that's sad.

Not surprising at all.. I fall in the age group you are talking about (22) but was lucky enough to get something out of the miserable education this area offers. I've come across some of my peers who are definitely behind the curve. I really think it stems from how they were raised.

This is precisely why my kids will absolutely not attend CCSD public schools.

yeah, looking back 10yrs later now, i can see how ****ty it really was. i was diagnosed with ADD (say what you want, it's real) and a math deficiency in 4th grade, and i had ONE teacher that gave a **** about it over the next 8yrs. on medication i could maintain a C+ average, without, failing. once i got into HS it became apparent that unless you were "mentally retarded" you weren't getting any help. i failed pre-algebra and was stuck into a math class full of stoners and 2 or 3 other kids like me. i was actually trying and i couldnt keep up with a regular math class, so i was stuck with a bunch of ****ups that didnt want to keep up.. i barely graduated from Eldorado HS in 2002 with a 2.1GPA. that's why i call myself a victim on the CCSD.
