Thumbs down Not me

I was all excited about this place opening but not anymore. Way too expensive and too smokey. Alot of things were skimped on and yes, Mr. Frey, I do know what I'm talking about. I won't go in there again.

Here's to hoping someone ELSE opens a better one!!!!

In an effort to be true to my word promising to report back I'll state that they did eventually provide me with the correct paperwork as of yesterday.

I had the same experience as many people here. The place is nice but it is run by a bunch of pirates. The people that work there are less than honest IMO. When I tried to bring in my own lead free 9mm they said it was "against the law" to shoot any ammo in the range that was not purchased there. I asked them to show me the law and sight the number so I could look it up and they just changed the subject. I had a sealed case of Remington lead free range safe ammo and they said that they had no way of knowing it was lead free. Safe Shot sucks and I will be looking forward to the the end of their eco-range. This is a prime example of what happens when we try to appease the left wing loonies in our community. The people who run this place made a deal with the devil and I think they will be a memory soon enough.

I went to safe shot on Saturday July 31st. Felt as if I was led around by my hand. (didn't think I needed baby sitting)The person behind the counter checked out my gun and my shooting bag. He put my gun, ammo and mags in a plastic box kept the shooting bag behind the counter. He then took the plastic box into the shooting lanes while I followed him. When I was done shooting, he seemed interested in my 1911. I let him dry fire it. But before that he let the slide drop on an empty chamber. I told him not to do that. He was appologetic. He then brought my gun and mags out to the front counter. I suppose I'm incapable of doing that myself. He then proceeded to drop the slide on an empty chamber[again]. I reminded him not to do that. [I wasn't happy] I explained to him why its not good for the gun. I also said that if he wants to do that to his gun [fine] just not to mine. There was another employee standing there that made a smart ass comment.
I dont have any reason to go back there. I dont like how I was treated. I'll handle my own guns for now on. The employees there need a gun handling lesson.

Well, Mickey, it was that way for me my first time, also. The young fellow took me to my station, noticed my ccw gun when I took my winter coat off and said I wasn't allowed to have any other guns or ammo back there.

I told him I wouldn't be shooting it and that it was staying with me.

He backed down.

When he saw that I knew what I was doing, he left. He was a young whippersnapper, probably just doing his job. Another's inexperience showed when he checked my Sig to make sure it was unloaded and thumbed the hammer down instead of using the decocking lever.

So what, working there might teach him a few things--gives me a chance to train 'em.

I've been in a couple more times since, and they just asked me if I'd been there before, and paid me no never mind. They did escort me to my shooting station and I told them where I wanted to shoot, since I don't want any heavy pistols or AR's next to my remaining good ear. No problems.

They did go from 30 rds. to 50 after, I suspect, hearing complaints about the high cost of ammo.

I can't afford to shoot there on a regular basis. Too bad, since I'd likely be a good regular customer. The managers have been polite and respectful, so I can't really complain, and I just tolerate some young whippersnapper carrying my stuff to the shooting stations.

If I judged the place on my first visit, I wouldn't have come back, but experience tells me things change when folks get to know you. I kind of see it as me training them, rather than the other way around.
