Member's have gone ape with uploading large photos to our servers and it's caused hell with our bandwidth allotments.

There are many fine image hosting services (imggur, google, etc.) please used one of those in the future to post pictures here.

Sorry for having to disable this, but... the amount of bandwidth we're burning on pictures is astounding.

Thanks for the cooperation.

UPDATED 8/8 - Changes have been made on the server end. Forum Supporters now have the ability to post attachments for now. ~TitanNV

Please do! Like, ASAP! (y)

Hoping to come up with another solution but for now we are chewing up too much bandwidth.

I'm done.

You could limit the size of the attachments to say, 80kilobytes but you'll still have some bandwidth consumption.

Of course. But the attachments are what the host says has increased our bandwidth - and this was a mid June to Mid July slow month. We know we have more ads in the Trading Post now, and the ads have to have pics. We had them limited to 4MB which is too much.

We'll see what we can do, but for now, it is adios attachments unless/until we come up with a better plan. Believe me, the 3rd party hosting is a pain in the ass for those of us who are not tech savvy - like me for example! :ROFLMAO:

I was using attachments to post pics but then I saw the "Insert Image" icon. It resulted in a HUGE OVERSIZED pic. Didn't mean for that to happen. I've since gone back to attachments as they are smaller.

I think you there's a way to limit the size using the "Image" icon as I've been on plenty of other forums using this type of setup and the pics come out nicely without being so large, but I have no idea how to do it.

Check out TinyPic. Free, easy to use image hosting site but the upload is only good for 90 days. Not good if you want permanent image upload but great for the Trading Post or something that is only temporary.

Can't post any pics. I was easy at first but you changed something. Not everyone's a whiz at computer stuff.
The pic posting capability has been turned off for now. Admin shut it off because all of the pics were sucking up to much band width. once they figure out a solution they will turn it back on.
