Many of you know Carey Barclay (AKHOLIC) from Kalifornia and more recently from Las Vegas (screen name CAB) from this board or CAB707 on other boards.

He was a frequent contributor here and had amassed an enormous wealth of information and knowledge about Kalishnikovs.

You may have noticed that he has not been posting recently. There is a reason he has been away.

Several months ago, Carey was diagnosed with an advanced, non-treatable and terminal form of cancer.

He is being cared for at home by Hospice workers while he spends his remaining time here on earth with his family.

I would ask that you remember him and his family in your prayers, that his final time here with us is not too painful.

We all know How wonderful gun laws are out there but really none of the I can say ever stopped me from lawfully going out and popping some cans and targets in the woods. At the age of 7 my grandfather bought me my first rifle (.22lr Steven's model savage). After about 2yrs of planking with that he allowed be to shoot his S&W-357mag with 38spl rounds. That was the beginning of the end. Christmas of my 10th birthday well I'm sure many other 10yo were getting RC cars and bikes, I got a RCBS master reloading kit. Right now my gun selection is small do to a recent divorce blablabla. but now that I'm out of California and in wonderful Vegas I'm looking forward to rebuilding my collection with a couple AR's. Short run down on what I Got.
Savage 22LR (First Gun )
Mauser 8mm (cheep gun but kills hogs with no problem)
Mossberg 12g (Family hand down with fixed adj Choke)
Benelli Nova 12G (My Turkey gun)

Pops just told me hes going give me his old 357 S&W (looks just like the 586) next time I'm up there so should add that in to. Its at least 25yo gun and I have shot 1000's if not 10,000 rounds out of it in my day. It will be going out to get Redone. May cost more than its worth but theirs a sentimental value to it. The AP80 (with the home made firing pin) works great. The 10-22 is back up and running smoothly. The Rossi Gallery gun is going "bang" every time you pull the trigger. The old Remington bolt action .22 is right on target. But, my mini-14 is another story. For some reason, the metal brackets (I am not sure of what they are called) at the end of the stock that hold the gas tube in place keep coming loose, causing the gun to stop feeding. I have tried really "horsing down" on them, but they will not stop moving when the gun is fired. Anyone ever hear of this problem before with the mini-14??
